The motto of SLP Pro Advisor is Simple Tools, Optimal Outcomes. Not all therapy methods need to be complicated or time consuming to provide the best results for your clients. Our courses will dive deep into some of the most challenging topics and our podcasts provide regular discussion on a variety of speech topics. Today we are launching another avenue of options: Simple Tools with Denise.

Over her 25+ years as a speech therapist, Denise has accumulated a large number of simple tools that can be applied in a large number of ways. Each month she will focus on a Simple Tool you can easily incorporate into your therapy toolbox. Enjoy this month’s installment, the Balloon Shooter.

Supplies needed:
2 heavy duty paper cups
premium balloon
pom pom balls – I’m sure you can find these at a local craft store.
double sided tape
packing tape
scissors

As always, let us know what you results in the comments below.

Other Episodes

If narrative language intervention is one of the pillars of your therapy, then you’re going to love what I have for you.
SLPs roles often overlap with other professions. While collaboration is highly desirable, sometimes roles overlap so much as to be almost indistinguishable.
We discuss the art of self-presentation,  the power of a well-told story,  and how to do networking interviews.
To mark the 100th episode, Dan (our business manager) interviews Denise about her favorite episodes, the beginnings of the podcast, and what the future holds for The Speech Umbrella.
